  AGFA ISOLETTE II

Here is the story: I happened to find an old camera in a boot sale  (Brocante de Maisons Alfort) ans decided it would be great to restore

The camera is a popular Agfa Isolette II, built in the 50s. Here are links about this camera.

Hand held Light Cell : Réalt Système Poirette

It has a direct read using plates to be inserted under the dial. Very handy, nice

Cameras Used

Here are the cameras I sold, in my perpetual quest for the perefect camera. Often, I would buy the camera, use it, find some accessory to it and then sale it after some time.

Rollei 35SE, Sold Jan 02.

It has a nice lens, very sharp. But it not deserved properly by its cell which is not too precise. For Slides, it's really a pain. For a while I had also a 35TE. It was then I could compare the photos with the ones made with a Minox. The Rollei is a tad better.

Is this an effect of the focal of 40mm?

Minox new GTE, Sold July 03.

A very interesting camera I used since 10 years, I had a ML, old GTE and this new GTE. But since I discovered the Range Finder, I used less and less this camera. Finally, I put it on sale to cover the expenses of a lens for the CLE.

First Leica CL , Sold Dec. 04

Well, after I discovered the existence of the Leica CL and the wonderful Summicron 40mm, I got the bite for the Range Finder.

Unfortunately the CL went dead (Solenoid of the needle in the viewfinder). I managed to have it repaired, tried to trade it against the Minolta CLE. But after using the CLE for a while, traded it back for this CL. Finally sold it to buy a new lens for the R7

July 2006: I just bought another Leica CL. This one is not converted to use the modern PX625.

Minolta CLE, Voigtlander Lens Sold November 03

Here featured with the Voigtlander 15mm. Well, it's a good camera however, the metering pattern and the fact that the light cell would not operate when the camera is in manual mode makes it a more Point and Shoot Camera with changeable lens. I prefer the Leica CL.

The voigtlander Heliar Lens 15mm is a fine lens but so difficult to use. I later bought (and resold) the skopar 25mm. For street photography, the external viewfinder is a real hassle. And although I like the 24 or 25mm focal lens, the external viewfinder is not precise in the framing.

Rollei 35 LED Sold May 2006

This an inexpensive package for street photography. Unfortunately the Light Cell is sort of useless piece of chunk. The shutter is really noisy.

A so-so camera.

Yashica 124G MAT Sold July 2006

A great package of 120 type of film. I like its square format but cannot cope with the lack of DOF and the price of the film. The camera is really difficult to use in the street, reason is the framing made from the top.

Serge, from Studios Rapahel is using this for the wedding ceremonies and with success. The clients are getting nice enlargement they can easily .scan on a flatbed…

Here the Mat is shown with the Macro add on, which offer a focusing distance less to 1 meter. Very nice!
